Course Overview

Knowledge Coop’s 20-Hour SAFE Federal Pre-Licensing Education (PE) Course is a dynamic, instructor-led online experience. Delivered over four days, the program combines video instruction, interactive activities, real-time class discussions, knowledge checks, and practical homework assignments.

Each day begins with a live Zoom discussion at 4:00 pm PDT, followed by ongoing discussions and activities throughout the course. Full attendance in all scheduled Zoom discussions is mandatory to meet NMLS credit requirements.

Course Schedule

The course officially begins at 4:00 pm PT on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, with a live Zoom session. Your instructor will contact you via email a few days before class begins with access links and preparation details.

After each daily Zoom session, you’ll continue your work at your own pace within the designated 4-day window.

Course Content

This 20-hour course is designed to meet all federal pre-licensing education requirements for mortgage loan originators in any U.S. state. Depending on your licensing goals, additional state-specific PE may be required.

You’ll gain the knowledge and skills to launch your career in residential mortgage lending. Our innovative, investigation-style approach to the NMLS-approved curriculum covers:

Ken Perry is the President and CEO of Knowledge Coop, a training and consulting firm that specializes in mortgage education. As a 22-year veteran of the mortgage industry, Ken’s vast interactions training mortgage professionals inspired him to pursue his dream of bringing positive change to the mortgage industry on a much larger scale. Knowledge Coop is an approved course provider of the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) dedicated to bringing a unique, not-what-you-expect style of education to clients by mixing passion and humor with extreme knowledge.

John Hines has been working in the financial industry for over 25 years, with the last 15 years dedicated specifically to the mortgage industry. He has held roles in operations, sales, and the secondary market. John is passionate about facts, learning, and helping others achieve success in their career paths. He currently lives in Dallas, Texas, and enjoys traveling, trying new food, and networking with interesting people.
